March, 2009
Well, I am determined to get this on before tomorrow, so I can wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!! This falls on March 17 (tomorrow). So.....
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
Again, the stone for the month is something other than what I think it should be; it should be the emerald, for the Emerald Isle or in honor of St. Patrick's Day. However it is the aquamarine, which is aquamarine in color. It is a cool color though, so I guess that is ok.
The flower for March is the Jonquil, which is a type of
daffodil, and which sometimes blooms in January.
March is named for Mars, the Roman god of war.

I had a report that there were 20 at the breakfast on March 7, which sounds great since several regulars (including me and my husband) were not there this time. I will have a list of names to put on soon, but I don't think there are any pictures.
My son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons were here from Virginia. They arrived on the 6th, and we were busy everyday. Did you know that there is a guacamole bowl at Balboa Park in March? We went there and sampled about a zillion different guacamoles, and voted for the best guacamole in town. Fun, but I am not sure if I want to see an avocado again in this lifetime. I still don't know what group won. I liked the California Highway Patrol guacamole.
